Central Board of Secondary education is a board for private and public schooling that comes under Union government of India. All schools that follows NCERT curriculum comes under CBSE board, as per CBSE guidelines. All private schools, Kendra Vidyalayas, Navodaya vidyalayas and all CBSE schools comes under government of India.


EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY CBSE

CBSE conducts all India level final exams for class 10 and 12 every year in month of Feb end or in march. The results for CBSE exams mostly comes in the month of May. CBSE also conducts IIT -Joint entrance exams and AIEEE (now merged under JEE). AIEEE was conducted till 2013 for under graduation programs in engineering and architecture across all over India.
AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) is conducted by CBSE for medical graduation programs and for entrance in medical colleges all over india.NET (National eligibility test) for junior research fellowship program was outsourced by CBSE in, 2014.Apart from these exams CBSE conducts CTET (central teacher’s eligibility test). CBSE is the largest exam conducting body of our country.

CBSE PAPER PATTERN AND EXAM SCHEME


CBSE conducts board exams related to streams that a student selects after secondary examinations as follows

1)MATHEMATICS & SCIENCE STREAM: this is the most selected stream by students those who wants to pursue their career in the field of mathematics and science. They have various options related to this stream as an Engineer, Architecture, B.Sc., M.Sc., Defense (Navy, Army, Air force), Research Field, Merchant Navy education and teaching courses. They opt for Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics as their core subjects.

2)BIOLOGY & SCIENCE STREAM: Aspirants those wants to make their career in MBBS, BAMS(Ayurveda), BHMS(homeopathy), Bachelors in Physiotherapy, B.Sc. Nursing, Veterinary science and for Research opts Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their core subjects.

GRADING AND MARKING SCHEMES

The marking scheme and pass criterion for all India CBSE is as per   the union government and central board of director’s guidelines.

   CBSE conducts board exams for class 10 and 12 based on latest      syllabus of CBSE and NCERT (National Council of educational          research and training). theory papers are based on the nature of     subjects, and the marks are allotted as per subject.                  

→  The board conducts externals and practical examinations at the end of    session every year.

→ grading or marking scheme is as per CBSE marking schemes.

→ the grading scheme under CBSE shows the rank and order of the       student as follows

  •   A-1, A-2: For top ranking students


  •   B-1, B-2: for next level top students.


  •   C-1, C-2: for next level students than B grades


  •   D-1, D-2: for next lower level students then grade C


  •   E: Failed candidates


the qualifying marks in each subject is 33% of total marks in that subject theory paper. Other than practical and externals a candidate requires to bring qualifying marks in a subject as per CBSE Class 12 Result 2018 norms. If a student brings 33% marks in theory paper & also 33% marks in externals \practical’s he is declared qualified.

COMPARTMENT EXAMINATIONS

A student may reappear for a subject if he/she failed to get qualifying marks (33% marks as per CBSE criteria). A student with compartment in any subject is given a chance to reappear in compartment exams held in July/August and may avail for the second chance in March/April next year. If failed to score again he/she is allowed for third chance in compartmental exams. The candidate is declared pass in the subject she/he failed.

CBSE declares all India results based on zones (presently CBSE has 10 regional zones).
